Custom furniture made by a carpenter may be covered by a warranty, but this depends on the individual practices of the carpenter or carpentry company. A warranty for custom-made furniture is a form of assuring the customer about the quality of workmanship and that the product will be free from material and manufacturing defects for a specified period of time.

In Poland, as in many other countries, consumer rights also protect buyers when purchasing custom-made furniture. Carpenters and custom furniture makers often offer their own warranty terms, which may include:

  • Repair or replacement of furniture in the event of material or manufacturing defects,
  • Free removal of faults within the specified warranty period,
  • Possibility of using post-warranty service on preferential terms.

The warranty period and scope of protection vary depending on the manufacturer, materials used to produce furniture and individual arrangements with the customer. Typically, the warranty period for custom-made furniture is from 1 to 5 years, but in some cases it may be longer.

It is important that before placing an order for furniture from a carpenter:

  • Ask about the terms of the warranty and what is covered by it,
  • Check whether the carpenter or carpentry company has good opinions and is a trusted supplier,
  • Establish in writing all conditions regarding the warranty, the scope of service services and possible repairs.

Obtaining clear information about the warranty will allow you to use your furniture safely and give you peace of mind knowing that any problems will be resolved by the manufacturer.
